| FAQ's Q: Will coating process destroy my parts? A: This depends upon the coating applied, your parts and the process. Most industrial-strength coatings are cured at between 350-750 degrees F. If there are components within you parts that cannot withstand this heat then yes, you will have an issue. However, there may be alternatives that can be applied with a catalyst and air dried depending upon your needs. Q: Is Pick up and Delivery available? A: Yes! Q: Is there a minimum charge? A: Yes. The minimum charge is $85. Q: What is minimum/maximum thickness that may be applied? A: Of course, it depends upon the coating. As little as .001 or as thick as .125 may be applied depending upon the properties desired. Q: How many color options are there? A: WE stock over 150 different color options in powder and liquid. Most common powder coatings have a large variety of color options. High-performance, industrial coatings utilized primarily for their technical properties have fewer options. [Such as Teflon, Halar, PBax] Q: Is it possible to get a rush job completed? A: Yes, we typically prefer to schedule 3-10 day turnaround but we can do rush orders. Q: What warranties are available for an applied coating? A: We apply our coatings according to manufacturer's specifications for that specific coating. Q: What are the advantages of powder vs liquid coating. A: This varies widely depending upon which coating is used. Generally speaking powder is more environmentally friendly since it emits few VOC's during curing compared to liquid coatings. Since it can be applied thicker and usually with multiple coats it is typically more durable than comparable liquid coatings. It is also superior for unusual configurations since it can 'flow' during curing thus providing a consistent finish in difficult to paint areas. |
